Privacy Policy

DealSonar ("we", "us") operates dealsonar.io and the DealSonar web app at app.dealsonar.io. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

Information we collect

Depending on how you use DealSonar, we may collect:

• Account data — email address, authentication identifiers, and profile settings you provide when you sign up or use the service.
• Monitor & listing data — search queries, locations, price filters, schedules, and Marketplace listings matched to your monitors (titles, prices, photos, listing IDs, distances, and related metadata from public listings).
• Usage data — actions in the app (e.g. dismissed listings, viewed results, message templates) and basic technical logs (IP address, browser type, timestamps) needed to run and secure the service.
• Alert preferences — email addresses and, if you connect them, Discord or Telegram details needed to deliver pings.
• Billing data — if you subscribe, payment details are processed by Stripe; we receive subscription status and limited billing metadata, not full card numbers.
• Waitlist data — email and referral source if you join before full access.

How we use your information

We use this data to:

• Run monitors and show matched listings, margins, and alerts
• Authenticate you and keep your account secure
• Send product emails (pings, beta invites, account messages)
• Improve filters, reliability, and support
• Process subscriptions and enforce plan limits
• Comply with law and prevent abuse

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

Chrome extension

The optional DealSonar for Facebook Marketplace Chrome extension lets you send seller messages from DealSonar Results using your existing Facebook login in Chrome.

• Messages are user-initiated only — nothing is sent automatically.
• The extension accesses facebook.com only to perform sends you request. It reads session context from your logged-in Facebook tab to complete the send. We do not store your Facebook password.
• After a successful send, a thread IDand message preview may be saved to your DealSonar account so Results can show "already messaged" status.
• The extension does not read your Facebook messages, friends list, or unrelated browsing history.

Third-party services

We use trusted providers to operate DealSonar, including:

• Supabase — authentication and database hosting
• Vercel — web app hosting
• Brevo — transactional and alert email
• Stripe — payments (when enabled)
• Data providers — e.g. marketplace listing sources and eBay sold-price lookups used to calculate margins

These providers process data on our behalf under their own privacy terms and only as needed to deliver the service.

Cookies & local storage

We use cookies and similar technologies for sign-in sessions, security, and preferences (e.g. ping sound). The Chrome extension may use local storage for optional settings such as a default message template. You can clear cookies in your browser; some features may not work without them.

Data retention

We keep account and monitor data while your account is active. If you delete your account or ask us to remove your data, we delete or anonymise it within a reasonable period, except where we must retain records for legal, security, or billing purposes.

Your rights

If you are in the UK or EEA, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data, and to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at the email below. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.

Security

We use industry-standard measures (encryption in transit, access controls, row-level security on user data) but no online service is 100% secure.

Children

DealSonar is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will change when we do. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
